Installation
  1. Remove two corner pieces (6 screws total) with a Phillips head screwdriver
  2. Insert your Starlink V5 dish
  3. Reattach corners in numbered positions (facing back of dish):
    • Part 1 = Top-Left
    • Part 2 = Top-Right
    • Part 3 = Bottom-Left
    • Part 4 = Bottom-Right

Frequently asked questions

What does it protect against?

Hail, falling debris, and impacts. The shield is 4.5 mm polycarbonate — the same family of material as Lexan — with a 3 mm air gap so airflow still reaches the dish.

Can I use it together with the V5 roof mount?

No — both products occupy the dish's corners, so it's one or the other. Choose the hail guard for impact protection or the roof mount for a permanent bolted installation.

How do I install the dish?

Remove two corner pieces (six screws), insert your Starlink V5, and reattach the corners in their numbered positions. It arrives pre-assembled.

Can it stay outside year-round?

Yes. The ASA frame is UV-resistant and won't yellow or degrade in sunlight, and the guard is designed for outdoor installation in all weather.

Is a 3D-printed mount strong enough?

Yes. Strength in a printed part comes from how thick its walls are and how much material is inside, and ours are built well beyond a typical hobby print: every part is printed in UV-resistant ASA with solid outer walls about 2.5 mm thick (six passes of material around every edge), a dense 75% internal fill, and solid top and bottom surfaces. Every design is tested in real-world conditions by full-time travelers.
