IMPORTANT: Before purchasing, and if you intend on closing your sunroof shade, please measure your sunroof shade clearance. When attached to the Starlink V5, the total height from glass to the furthest point of the mount/dish is exactly 1.75 inches. We recommend allowing for additional clearance if you are unsure about fitment with your specific vehicle's sunroof shade.

Tesla note: Pre-2025 Model Y and Model 3 roofs pass the Starlink signal and this mount works there. Tesla's newer heat-rejecting glass does not: the 2025 and later Model Y roof, the Model Y L roof and rear hatch, and the Cybertruck roof all have a metallic layer that blocks the signal. The front windshield on those vehicles does pass signal, but suction mounts on a windshield are for parked use only. If you're not sure which glass you have, set the dish on the seat under the roof and check the Starlink app for a connection before ordering.

Installation
  1. Clean mounting surface thoroughly
  2. Attach to Starlink V5 by sliding the top bracket over the top side of the Starlink V5 dish and the bottom (kickstand/pipe adapter side) bracket over the bottom of the Starlink V5 dish. Note: Do not snap them on. They should slide on easily from the sides.
  3. Release latch on suction cups
  4. Attach to vehicle interior glass by firmly pushing the suction cup onto the surface, rotate latch handle to secure.
  • If suction cups become warped, remove them from mount and soak in hot water to reset their shape.

Which Starlink dish does this fit?

The Starlink V5 — the Version 5 (Gen 5) residential dish released in 2026. It does not fit the Starlink Mini or the Standard 4 Gen 3.

How much sunroof shade clearance does it need?

With the Starlink V5 attached, the total height from the glass to the farthest point of the mount and dish is exactly 1.75 inches. Most sunroof shades clear that, but measure yours before ordering.

Can I drive with it installed?

Yes. The mount attaches to the interior glass of your sunroof or window, so the dish rides inside the cabin and is never exposed to wind.

Does it require drilling?

No. Four locking suction cups hold it to interior glass, and it removes cleanly.

Does it work in a Tesla?

It depends on the glass. Pre-2025 Model Y and Model 3 roofs pass the Starlink signal and this mount works there. How should I clean the glass before installing?

Wipe the interior glass thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Skip soap and water, since residue interferes with suction, and even a thin film of dust or wax noticeably reduces grip.

Can I replace the suction cups?

Yes. The heavy-duty suction cups are replaceable, and we sell them individually as spare parts.

What if a suction cup warps?

Remove it from the mount and soak it in hot water to reset its shape, then reinstall it.

Is a 3D-printed mount strong enough?

Yes. Strength in a printed part comes from how thick its walls are and how much material is inside, and ours are built well beyond a typical hobby print: every part is printed in UV-resistant ASA with solid outer walls about 2.5 mm thick (six passes of material around every edge), a dense 75% internal fill, and solid top and bottom surfaces. Every design is tested in real-world conditions by full-time travelers.
