Steel Roofs Only: Not compatible with aluminum body panels (Ford F-150 2015+, some luxury vehicles). Magnets require steel to adhere.

Will it stick to my vehicle's roof?
Only if the roof panel is steel. Aluminum bodies — the Ford F-150 from 2015 on, and some luxury vehicles — won't hold a magnet. Test your roof with any household magnet before ordering.

Treat it as a stationary mount: set it up when you're parked and take it down before driving. The magnets are for holding the dish in wind and weather at camp, not at highway speed.

No. The four magnets hold the mount with 260 pounds of combined pull, and it lifts off to move between vehicles.

The magnets are rubber-coated, which helps protect painted surfaces. Wipe both the roof and the magnets clean before mounting, because grit trapped under any magnet can mark the finish.

Strength in a printed part comes from how thick its walls are and how much material is inside, and ours are built well beyond a typical hobby print: every part is printed in UV-resistant ASA with solid outer walls about 2.5 mm thick (six passes of material around every edge), a dense 75% internal fill, and solid top and bottom surfaces. Every design is tested in real-world conditions by full-time travelers.

Every Moonlight Mounts product is designed and printed in-house, and it’s backed by our limited lifetime warranty: for as long as you own it, we replace manufacturing defects and missing parts free of charge and pay the shipping on the replacement. Wear parts such as suction cups and adhesive aren’t covered. Not the right fit? Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, including sale items: send us your order number through the contact form, and we’ll reply with approval and the return address.
