When attached to the Starlink Mini, the total height from glass to the furthest point of the mount/dish is exactly 1.75 inches. We recommend allowing for additional clearance if you are unsure about fitment with your specific vehicle's sunroof shade.

Installation:

  1. Clean mounting surface thoroughly
  2. Attach to Starlink Mini Dish by sliding each bracket over the sides of the Starlink Mini dish. Note: Do not snap them on. They should slide on easily from the sides.
  3. Release latch on suction cups
  4. Attach to vehicle interior glass by firming pushing the suction cup onto the surface, rotate latch handle to secure.
  • If suction cups become warped, remove them from mount and soak in hot water to reset their shape.

How much sunroof shade clearance does the mount need?

With the Starlink Mini attached, the total height from the glass to the farthest point of the mount and dish is exactly 1.75 inches. Most sunroof shades clear that, but clearance varies by vehicle and model year, so measure yours before ordering.

Can I drive with the mount installed?

Yes. The mount attaches to the interior glass of your sunroof or window, so the dish rides inside the cabin and is never exposed to wind. That is exactly what it is designed for.

Does it require drilling?

No. The mount holds with four locking suction cups on interior glass, so there is no drilling and no adhesive on your vehicle, and it removes cleanly.

Will the dish work through tinted or coated glass?

In most vehicles, yes. The mount is designed for use through sunroof and window glass. Some metallic or athermic glass coatings can weaken satellite signal, and glass varies by vehicle, so test reception at your mounting spot before relying on it.

How should I clean the glass before installing?

Wipe the interior glass thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Skip soap and water, since residue interferes with suction, and even a thin film of dust or wax noticeably reduces grip.

Can I replace the suction cups?

Yes. The heavy-duty suction cups are replaceable, and we sell them individually as spare parts.

What if a suction cup warps?

Remove it from the mount and soak it in hot water to reset its shape, then reinstall it.

Starlink Mini Suction Cup Mount

Fits perfectly with the ability to replace the suction cups if they get damaged or worn out with similar ones from big box stores. Had tracking information within hours of placing order and had delivery 3 days later!! Quantity product and great shipping time. Prior to finding this I had used Velcro straps and suction cups to mount in the SUV for while we are in National Parks. While that worked it still moved around quite a bit and was down about 2 inches from the glass. We had good service then so it should be even better now.

Starlink Mini Suction Cup Mount

The mount fits very well onto the sunroof of my 2015 Subaru WRX, and I was surprised that with the Starlink Mini dish installed the lower cover of the sunroof slid forward to close much more easily than I expected. Based on the size specs of the mount, and my measurements of the gap between the glass in the sunroof and the lower cover, I expected that the cover would have to deform downwards a bit to close completely, but this wasn’t the case at all.
